Weekend of Rage

Tuesday 23rd June 2009 - I probably have had one of the best weekends of the year, coupled with the worst. I shall explain.

Friday morning was spent at my local Kwik Fit centre, where I had ordered four new tyres to be fitted and balanced. My appointment was at 10am, so I arrived at 9.55am and presumed my car would be done straight away. An hour later I was still waiting to be seen... a few minutes later the manager told me to move my car into the bay, and that the work would take 45 minutes. Another hour passed, and my car was finally done. Needless to say I was pretty happy at this point, especially as I'd managed to salvage two of my old tyres (they're £100 a pop you see).

This having been done I made my way to my girlfriend's house (70 miles away in Essex), thinking the journey would take me a little more than an hour, as usual. As fucking if. I couldn't drive my car above 50mph as the steering wheel was vibrating like mad. When I finally arrived in Essex, two hours later, I had to pay another garage to balance my tyres AGAIN. The manager at Kwik Fit had managed to leave the weights for the old tyres on, even though he had swore blind he had properly balanced the tyres. Pro tip: Don't go to Kwik Fit.

On Saturday my girlfriend's nephew was coming over for the day. I suggested we all go to the cinema in Colchester to see Transformers 2 as we are both big fans. Naturally on the opening weekend we had trouble finding a showing, but managed to get seats albeit right at the front. The film started, and despite my girlfriend's nephew's incessant chattering, I was enjoying the film. Forty minutes into the film the amplifier for the main speakers blew... for the next ten minutes the audience sat in silence and watched the film with only background surround sound. Finally the Odeon manager turned up and told us what had happened, and then let us know we could go to the next showing of the film, even though it had sold out. I was raging so hard at this point as I had paid £6 for car parking and another £6.50 for the cinema ticket. The manager told me I could either have a refund for the film ticket or a replacement ticket. This still left me out of pocket. After a lot of shouting and swearing on my part I managed to get a refund and a free ticket. Win.

Mega sigh

Sunday 31st May 2009 - Well its certainly been a while. Decided to come back to blogging after GoDaddy automatically renewed my shit, so I thought I might as well get my money's worth. Very little has happened recently, my football team got knocked out of an important annual tournament in the semi-final after a lacklustre performance. It was disappointing to say the least, but our performance in group stages was certainly promising.

My life has been revolving around seeing the girlfriend, playing computer games, and searching for that elusive 'job'. I'm nearly at my wit's end, I really have no idea what to do now... I don't understand why no one will give me a break. I mean I have work experience, volunteer experience, I am more than competent with computers, and I have a goddamn degree. Seriously any job would do now, I'd just like someone to give me a chance.

Left4Dead new maps are pretty good actually, although my clan haven't got to play much as our INX Gaming server keeps packing up by the time we get onto the second level. Their customer service is somewhat lacking. My efforts recently have been poured into trying to rank up in COD5 which is good fun, I'm actually enjoying using old school weapons, but I do miss my nightvision...

HEY! Do I look like one of them?

Monday 24th November 2008 - Last week (the 15th) was my football team's, Cosmos U.F.C., 40th Anniversary, which I helped to organise. It went pretty well actually, and I even received an award for being like... best supporter or some shit. Either way, it didn't stop us getting beat 4-1 in the Wimbledon and District league this Saturday.

Apart from that, Left4Dead came out on Steam last week also. I've played 26 hours so far, and have managed to complete the game on expert difficulty with my clan. The game is absolutely brilliant on campaign mode, but I've yet to properly try the versus mode. The only thing the game lacks is a proper server browser, as usually the game joins you to high ping servers which are too laggy to play on.

On the job front there is still fuck all out there, I am probably going to go into town and get a shitty Christmas job, hopefully at Gamestation where I can use my discount. Its just a matter of finding enough warm clothes to wear to venture outside.

Hiatus

Tuesday 9th September 2008 - Lots has happened over the past few weeks. Mauritius won a bronze in the Olympic boxing, some truck ran into the back of my beloved car (its been in the garage for over two weeks now) and my estranged grandad died. At the moment I'm home alone, and its pretty boring. There is only so much Call of Duty 4 one can play.

I had a dream last night (well, I was drifting in and out of sleep) where I was driving a car that was about to crash. I didn't want to fall asleep, because I thought that if the car crashed in my dream, I would be brain dead in real life. Kind of like a Matrix thing, where if you get killed in the Matrix you die in real life. I did eventually fall asleep, but I'm not sure about the brain dead thing.

lol jobz

Wednesday 13th August 2008 - Job application forms take too long to fill out, and more often than not there are several mistakes in them. Meanwhile, the BBC are still being dickheads, and only showing GBR and IRL in the Olympic highlights, leaving me with no chance of watching Mauritius in the boxing; the only sport we are somewhat good at.

Its quite windy out.

The first of many...

Monday 4th August 2008 - Just spent a bit of time working on this site, and it doesn't seem to look too bad. In the future I may add a couple of images, but I'll try not to over do it. Hum, I'm bored.
