About
Most websites have one of these, so I thought I might as well follow suit.
Basically I'm a twenty-something year old from South London in the United Kingdom. I was born to Mauritian immigrants who arrived in the late 1960s. The past 20 years or so of my life have been spent in education, culminating in achieving a Desmond degree from King's College London. My time now is spent searching for jobs, spending time with my girlfriend and racking up too many hours playing Counter-Strike: Source, Left 4 Dead and Call of Duty 4.
I see myself as somewhat of a recluse, which is probably why I am nearly always found behind my several computer screens or alone cruising the motorway in my car. I guess I am also a car enthusiast, as much as you could be having only owned two cars (both of them a Renault Clio, 1.2 Dynamique and a 2.0 182 RenaultSport, respectively). Once I have ended my fruitless search for a job I shall undertake the process of modding my 182, hopefully in a more tasteful way than some of the boy racers that live in my area.
The three other main passions of mine, are music, films and Mauritian culture. I pride myself on my eclectic (cliche I know) music taste, which ranges from heavy metal to r'n'b to reggae and jungle. I, probably like most other people, go through different phases of music genres, and at the current time of writing I am listening to quite a lot of grime and rap. To be honest, my last.fm account would probably give you a better view of likes and dislikes. As for films, I shall not bore you with a huge list of mi fav0rit filmz evarr, but I shall just say I have always loved the epic films such as Star Wars and LOTR.
This brings me neatly on to my last interest of Mauritian culture. As a second generation Mauritian living in London I have been brought up to speak Creole, listen to Mauritian music and make friends with other second generation Mauritians, which was never hard seeing as my Father ran a Mauritian football team. A sense of pride about who I was and where I had come from was instilled in me from the very beginning, so much so that I even wrote my undergraduate dissertation on the integration of second generation Mauritians in London. I shall upload that at some point, in order to give you something thrilling to read.
